Where are the Dance Moms Stars Now? | Sofia Ung
Dance Moms: The infamous show of gossip and, well, crazy dance moms. Whether it was Abby yelling at the girls or the moms fighting, it definitely kept its viewers wanting more. Dance Moms ran for eight years before Abby Lee Miller, amid legal troubles, was incarcerated for ten months. Many of the girls on the show left early, but since they left with their Dance Mom fame, it begs the question: What are they up to now?
Always on the top of the pyramid, Maddie boasts 13.8 million followers on Instagram and is the most popular dancer amongst the Abby Lee Miller Dance Company alumni. When Maddie left Dance Moms, she continued to appear in many of Sia’s music videos after, like “Chandelier” and “Elastic Heart.” Alongside her music video performances, Maddie has dived into the world of acting in which she has made some appearances in The Book of Henry, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, Austin & Ally, Pretty Little Liars, The Fallout, and most recently, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. Maddie has also made a tremendous amount of money from endorsements and brand deals from hundreds of companies. She has made her own memoir called The Maddie Diaries, collaborated with Morphe Makeup to create her own eyeshadow palette, and even launched a partnership with Fabletics. Currently, she resides in Los Angeles with her mom and younger sister, Kenzie, where she is working on a new movie and is dating singer-songwriter, Eddie Benjamin.
The younger of the Ziegler duo rose to fame at the age of six through Dance Moms. When the sisters left the show, Kenzie expanded her career into the singing industry and even released her own album in 2018 called Phases. She has collaborated with artists such as Sia on singles and starred in a Brat TV series called Total Eclipse. Most recently she competed on The Masked Dancer and is dating Tacoda Duggs.
The bow fanatic became even a bigger one right after leaving the show. She started singing, acting, and making YouTube videos for her 12 million YouTube subscribers. She has a whole range of JoJo-themed products like bows, dolls, bedding, board games, makeup, and even ice cream. She has written multiple books and made guest appearances on numerous shows like The Masked Singer. Jojo was named one of Time's Most Influential People in 2020, while in 2021 her show Siwa's Dance Pop Revolution debuted on Peacock. Most recently, Siwa competed on Dancing With the Stars with her partner Jenna Johnson and finished in 2nd place. Jojo and Jenna were the first same-sex dance partnership in the show's history as Jojo came out as LGBTQ+ early last year.
As Chloe left the show earlier than most of the girls, she still competed at other studios and made guest appearances in later seasons. Since the show, Chloe has started a successful YouTube channel, written a book, as well as created her own book club. Like some of her other fellow Dance Mom’s stars, she has taken interest in acting as she has been in The Message and Loophole. She currently attends college at Pepperdine in Malibu and most recently came out publicly. She currently is dating pro skateboarder Brooklinn Khoury.
Nia ran into many problems on the show as it is speculated that Abby discriminated against her due to her race. After leaving ALDC, she starred on Brat TV's Sunnyside Up and started her own series called, Dance With Nia. She has made guest appearances on shows like The Bold and The Beautiful early in 2018 and also posts on her YouTube channel. Nia hosts a podcast called Adulting with her friend Teala Dunn, in which they share difficulties they both face as women of color in the entertainment industry. Nia is 20 years old and currently attends UCLA.
What has my little Kendall been up to you may ask? Kendall started taking up acting and singing after leaving Dance Moms, but continued to dance at other studios. She has appeared in Rapunzel: A Princess Frozen in Time, Santa in Training, and a live-action remake of Anastasia. Vertes has also come out with multiple singles and also hosts The Kendall K. & Friends Show.
