The Fall Season Of Drops | Melody Abouzari
Updated: Aug 29, 2022
The fall season is sure to be a fun and exciting period for movie fans and music lovers alike. Fans all across the world are practically salivating at the thought of how many exciting drops are occurring during the months of spookiness and togetherness. Big name artists like Taylor Swift, Arctic Monkeys, Harry Styles, and more have exciting projects coming their way, some of which are even coinciding with each other on the same day! Today, we’re here to break down the fall drops that are sure to make the headlines and fill the front pages globally.
September is the driest of all the fall months when it comes to music drops, but makes up for it in terms of movies being released. In the world of film, the most raved about movies coming to the big screen are: Hocus Pocus 2, Don’t Worry Darling, The Woman King, and Blonde. Hocus Pocus 2 is a sequel to the classic 1993 film, Hocus Pocus, a Halloween movie that manages to enchant the hearts of both younger and older audiences alike.
Don’t Worry Darling is a psychological thriller coming out just in time for the season, featuring a star studded cast of Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, and Chris Pine, just to name a few!
The Woman King is a historical drama based on the life of the Agojie, an all-female warrior unit that protected the African kingdom of Dahomey in the 19th century. The film headlines with Academy Award, Primetime Emmy Award, and two Tony Award winning actress Viola Davis. Finally, Blonde, starring Ana De Armas, is another highly anticipated historical drama revolving around the life of Marilyn Monroe.
In September, some big names such as 5 Seconds of Summer, John Legend, and Yungblud, are planning to take the world of music by storm, and are dipping their toes into introducing new music to their base. Personally, I’m most excited about 5SOS5 being dropped, as the last time 5 Seconds of Summer had new music was early during the pandemic in March 2020.
October is by far the most jam-packed month of the year when it comes to music drops. Starting off the month strong, we have both Taylor Swift and The Arctic Monkeys dropping new albums on October 21st. Taylor Swift’s new album, “Midnight”, promises to be an intensely emotional album to perfectly align with the cozy fall season. The Arctic Monkeys new album, “The Car”, has only been released with the title and picture, but fans jumped with the news. This new album is the newest drop since 4 years ago, so it is sure to live up to its press.
In my opinion, the most highly anticipated movie of October is another film starring Harry Styles, known as My Policeman. My Policeman is an angst-filled, romantic story sure to leave watchers in tears on October 21st.
In November, by far the most anticipated Marvel movies are coming to the big screen. If you’re an avid Marvel fan, then you’d know that I’m talking about the one and only Wakanda Forever. Taken 4 years after the original, this movie dives right in from where it left off in 2018. With the loss of leading man, Chadwick Boseman, this film has even more sentimental value now than it has ever before.
While this movie isn’t necessarily coming out in the fall, it’s still such a notable piece of film that I couldn’t not include it in the line up. Yes, friends, I am indeed talking about the highly, highly anticipated Avatar: The Way of Water. After 13 years, this sought after sequel is finally taking to the big screens, and gracing us with its presence.
So, as you can see, fans of movies and music alike, this season is sure to promise lots of fun and memories, and will surely be a fall to remember.
